Topic: The Administrator's Role


Jim Knight brought these expert panelists together to answer audience questions about instructional coaching and administrators during the Second Annual Instructional Coaching Conference in October 2007.


From left to right: Joellen Killion is a leader of the National Staff Development Council that works to ensure that educators engage in effective professional learning. Sue Keck, an assistant to the superintendent in Pennsylvania, supports professional development in the state. Jim Knight, author of Instructional Coaching a Partnership Approach to Improving Instruction, moderates the panel discussion. Lucy West worked with the District 2 New York City Board of Education to rework teaching mathematics and learning through professional development. Joe Buckley, the principal of Bohemia Manor Middle School, was featured in Chapter 9 of Jim Knight's book. Jane Kise, author of Differentiated School Leadership, has successfully worked with many principals.
